David Zinman has just ended a week working with the Gulbenkian orchestra in Lisbon, which he describes as a ‘really terrific orchestra’ – with a lot of young players, an excellent wind section and all very responsive. He says Larry (Foster) has done a really great job!
After a few days well earned rounds of golf in (alas, not so sunny Algarve) – he heads to Paris, to conduct a concert on Thursday 18 April with the Orchestre National de France, where he is both liked and known! The programme is below:
Jeudi 18 Avril
Théâtre du Châtelet – 20h00
Concerto pour violon et orchestre en ré mineur
Symphonie n°6 en ré Majeur op.60
